WHAT IS A COUPLES INTENSIVE?
No rushing. No trying to fit everything into 50 minutes.
A couples intensive is an extended therapy experience that gives you dedicated time to focus on your relationship.
With more space to slow down, you and your therapist can explore relationship patterns, practice new ways of connecting, and focus on your specific issues.
It's intentional time to reconnect, repair, and grow together.

Conflict

Life Transitions
Navigate marriage, parenthood, career changes, loss, and other seasons of change together.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
1. BEGIN WITH A CONSULTATION.
Start with a free 30-minute consultation call to talk about your relationship, your goals, and whether an intensive is the right fit. Afterward, you’ll complete the Gottman Connect questionnaires to help us better understand where your relationship is at.
2. FOCUSED TIME TOGETHER.
Your therapist will create an individualized treatment plan using the Sound Relationship House framework. Our 6+ hour intensives includes 30-minute individual sessions, giving you dedicated time to explore patterns, practice new skills, and work toward your goals.
3. KEEP GROWING.
You'll leave with greater insight, practical tools, and a clearer sense of how to continue nurturing your relationship beyond the intensive.

FAQ
How is an intensive different from weekly therapy?
An intensive gives your relationship more time and space. Rather than meeting for a shorter session each week, you’ll have extended time to explore what’s keeping you stuck, practice new ways of connecting, and let important conversations unfold without feeling rushed.
How do we choose a package?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. During your consultation, we’ll talk about your relationship, what you hope to work on, and your availability. Together, we’ll consider which package offers the right amount of time and support for your goals.
How should we prepare?
Before your intensive, you’ll each complete a Gottman relationship assessment to help your therapist understand your relationship more fully. We also encourage you to set aside everyday obligations and leave some room to decompress afterward. There’s no need to arrive with everything figured out. That’s part of what we’ll explore together.
What happens afterward?
You’ll leave with tools and resources to keep practicing together. Your therapist will also talk with you about next steps and whether ongoing couples therapy or additional sessions could be helpful. The intensive creates space to begin meaningful work, and everyday moments offer opportunities to
keep building on it.
