EMDR therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences that may feel “stuck.” Many people find EMDR helpful for reducing emotional overwhelm, shifting negative beliefs, and creating lasting change without needing to repeatedly retell painful experiences in detail.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy can help individuals process and heal from trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship wounds, grief, low self-esteem, perfectionism, chronic stress, and other experiences that continue to affect daily life. At Tendril Therapy, we have clinicians that use EMDR therapy to help clients identify and reprocess difficult memories, negative core beliefs, emotional triggers, and nervous system responses that may contribute to feeling stuck or overwhelmed. EMDR is commonly used for PTSD and trauma therapy, but it can also support healing around attachment wounds, performance anxiety, medical trauma, identity-related stress, and painful life transitions. We provide LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive EMDR therapy both in-person in San Diego and online throughout California.
